Jose Mourinho to ditch Chelsea for Manchester United?

Manchester United have apparently contacted Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho after it was announced that David Moyes has left the club, reports Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, and now is one of the board’s most preferred candidates to fill in for Moyes.

According to his report on Italian website Calcio Mercato, Mourinho is already thinking about taking up the position with which he has been tied for a long time now ahead of Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid.

“Jose [Mourinho] is in fact thinking about United, for the next season. It is not the first time Mourinho has never hidden his desire to be in charge one day at United,” he wrote.

Mourinho has always been touted to be Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor, however, it was Moyes who was hand-picked by Ferguson himself. It is being said that Ryan Giggs is most likely to take over the club until the end of this season, but only as an interim manager.

Marzio also spoke about Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp who has already ruled himself out of the job, stating, “Man Utd is a great club and I feel very familiar with their wonderful fans. But my commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable.”

However, Klopp is only ready to take the job in 2015 when his contract expires while Louis van Gaal is ready to take over in the summer after the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
