Manchester United’s goalkeeper David De Gea is close to signing a new contract that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2018, reports Mirror.

The Spaniard has two years left in his contract, but apparently manager David Moyes is eager to get his signature on a contract extension to draw off interests from the likes of Barcelona who were reportedly planning a potential summer move for the player.

His new deal will be worth £90,000 a week.

De Gea has started 35 matches for Manchester United this season, and has been a consistently good performer.
