Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has made it clear that Adnan Januzaj will be allowed to move out on a loan deal. Earlier reports revealed that Van Gaal informed Januzaj about his exclusion from the first team and mentioned that the situation is more likely to be the same for the next few games.

The Belgian has struggled for appearances under Van Gaal this season and it has resulted in the player considering a switch to play regular football elsewhere. Real Sociedad, Porto and Aston Villa are few of the clubs linked with the player transfer but the Red Devils have told Januzaj to wait until the end of the transfer window which closes on 2 February.

Januzaj is not a potential wing-back: Louis van Gaal

Van Gaal started the season with the 3-5-2 formation and had to return to it in November because of an injury crisis. His 3-5-2 formation has seen the club go on a run of 11 unbeaten games.

However, Januzaj managed to clock only 27 minutes since mid-November. Van Gaal’s formation preference requires the use of wing-backs on each flank and the United boss does not deem Januzaj worthy of the position.

Real Sociedad and Aston Villa reportedly willing to sign Januzaj

David Moyes has been trying to sign Januzaj on a short term deal as the former Manchester United boss was a huge admirer of the footballer. Januzaj made his United debut under the Scot manager last season and also signed a long-term contract when he was in charge of the club last season.

Aston Villa already have Tom Cleverley on loan from United and they are eager to make a deal for the Belgian player. Villa are currently struggling to score goals and have not scored a goal in five EPL matches since December.
