`Manchester United’s top target

Manchester United are reportedly set to break the transfer record once again next summer to get hold of Antoine Griezmann. The Mirror claims that the Old Trafford club are in 'active talks' with the player regarding a move to the Premier League.

Red Devils are said to have held preliminary talks with Atletico Madrid as well. It's believed that they are ready to nearly £80 million to bring French star to Old Trafford but the Spanish side will hold out for a record transfer fee.

The Mirror also report that Griezmann is looking for a move away after understanding that Diego Simeone would be leaving the club in the summer. The 25-year-old France international is said to be aware of Manchester United's interest and is willing to join them.

Atletico Madrid are said to be preparing for the departure of their 2 valuable assets but history suggests that they have been able to find equally efficient replacements every single time. But now with the transfer ban, it would not be possible for them to sign a replacement immediately next summer.

Manchester United spent a massive £89.3 million on getting Paul Pogba during the summer and are now laying the groundwork for another big money move. The Red Devils are aware of the interest in Griezmann from several other clubs and that is the main reason why they are making a move for him straight away.

Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG and Juventus are also said to be keeping an eye on the French international. Chelsea have been eyeing a move for him every since his Real Sociedad days and might do anything in their power to get him to Stamford Bridge next summer.

Griezmann confirms PSG interest

Griezmann has already confirmed that Paris Saint-German were interested in signing him during the summer. He said, "Yes, but as it was during Euros I told my agent I did not want to listen."

The agent of Griezmann was reportedly keen on getting the Frenchman to join Paris Saint-German and kept on trying to get him there during the EURO 2016. "I told him: 'I do not want you talking to me of Atletico or Paris - I want you to leave me in Clairefontaine [France's training camp].' But I know they were very interested." said the French forward.

He then made a shocking decision and parted with his agent all of a sudden and many wondered if it was because he failed to land him a move away. The forward then confirmed that he was not thinking of leaving at all and said, "From now I'm going to operate without an agent. But I will always have the advice of my father and also my mentor, Eric Olhats."
