Adidas reveal Manchester United's 2016 / 2017 away kit

Manchester United's new away kit

Manchester United have revealed their away kit for the upcoming season on Twitter today. The club signed a mammoth multi-hundred-million deal with German kit makers, Adidas, and have today shown the world their 2nd away kit.

The English giants are yet to reveal their home kit for the upcoming season but given by the design of the away kit, a lot is expected of the home kit – which as touted plenty of times before is set to be 'different' than many of the United kits of the past.

As visible, Adidas have gone with blue as their major colour – a welcome change from them preferring white and black as their two away kits this season. The kit also fancies a red Adidas logo and the signature triple stripe pattern on the shoulders.

While it is unusual clubs to alter their logos on their jerseys, Adidas have gone ahead and coloured the whole Manchester United logo in the same red as their logo and the stripes. Below the two logos is that of their main sponsor, Chevrolet, who retain the same typeface and choice of portation of their logo.

With the first away kit in a blue, it is likely that Manchester United will demand a black or white away kit for their third choice. As is the case with most clubs, the signature red, black and white will be retained for their main home kit.

Here's a better look at the revealed jersey:

The club are set to be deprived of UEFA Champions League football as Louis van Gaal's men lost to West Ham 3-2 on the last home game at the Boleyn Ground. Anthony Martial scored twice but West Ham scored twice late on into the game to leave Van Gaal's men unable to qualify for the UEFA Champions League unless they win on the last day and their neighbours Manchester City lose.
