Manchester United, finally made Paul Pogba’s move official two days ago, bringing an end to the world’s worst kept secret. On completion of the move, the Frenchman felt that it was destiny more than anything else that brought him back to Old Trafford. The 23-year old returns to his old hunting ground after leaving four years ago as he felt he wasn’t getting enough playing time and thus having a fall out with Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I think it’s destiny, I would say it’s destiny,” Pogba said about his move in his first official interview since it was confirmed to United’s website. “First, my mum told me I would come back here and I told her, ‘You never know, you’ll see.’”

In these four years, the lanky teenager that left the English shores has grown into one of the most prolific midfielders. Four years in Turin has seen the Frenchman fill out not only in terms of physique but also in terms of footballing acumen. He is no longer a prodigious talent. He has arrived and how!

In the last three years, the Red Devils has seen a steady decline in fortune as the team has struggled to maintain its lofty height in the post Sir Alex Ferguson-era with both David Moyes and Louis van Gaal failing to stand up to the acid test at the Theatre of Dreams. And the Frenchman seems to be ready to take the challenge on to return the club to its former glory.

“For myself as well it’s a big challenge too, just to come back to where I came from, where I grew up, where I started. I didn’t finish what I started here so I think I came here to finish it,” said of the challenges that laid in front of him.

Jose Mourinho has had to shell out a mighty €105 million payable over two years to get his services as he grown into the most highly sought after midfielder in the world. The Red Devils might also have to shell out a further €5 million bonus in each year of the contract.

“This club is created to win titles, to win things, to win big things. I just focus on this and that’s it. I’m just ready to go and work on that and just kill it.”

After starring for the academy in his first spell at Manchester United, Pogba feels that he is ready to make his mark in the Premier league and has come back a more mature and versatile player.

“I’m more experienced, I’ve won titles at Juventus,” Pogba added. “I’ve been playing with big players like when I started at Man United, of course.

“I came back. I’ve not come back from the Academy now; I went to play somewhere else and I came back, I would say, as a person, as an adult. I would say with experience, with more games, so I think that’s the difference.”
