Angel Gomes is one of the brightest young talents at Manchester United

16-year-old Manchester United academy starlet Angel Gomes is one of the brightest young talents in England and latest reports suggest that Barcelona are interested in signing the England U-18 international.

An attacking midfielder who is very skillful and capable of cutting open defences with a killer pass, Angel Gomes was signed by Manchester United as a 13-year old and has consistently played in higher age groups and even made his Manchester United U-18 debut when he was just 14.

The London-born midfielder has scored five goals this season in the U-18 Premier League side, including a hat-trick as a substitute against Everton in August. This hat-trick made the then 15-year-old Gomes the youngest ever hat-trick scorer for Manchester United since the club introduced the U-18 in its current form.

Gomes made his England Under-16 debut at the age of 14 and is now the captain of the national Under-17 squad. In 11 appearances for club and country, Gomes has scored eight goals and has nine assists to his name.

Academy boss Nicky Butt rates the youngster highly, but with Barcelona interested in him, Manchester United will have a tough time keeping Angel Gomes at Old Trafford.

Will Griezmaan be the latest superstar to move to the Premier League?

Antoine Griezmann is one of the world’s best players at the moment and latest reports from M.E.N Sport claim that Manchester United are favourites to land the Frenchman’s signature.

The 25-year-old top scored at Euro 2016 and has begun the new campaign prolifically under Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone scoring 6 goals in 8 games and guiding Atletico Madrid to the top of La Liga table.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also monitoring the Frenchman, but Manchester United are confident of convincing Griezmann to choose Old Trafford because of Paul Pogba. The Atletico Madrid forward has a release clause of £89.3 million and although many Premier League clubs are willing to meet it, United are counting on Pogba’s close friendship with Griezmann to convince him to join the Red Devils.

With the future of Diego Simeone uncertain, Atletico Madrid will face a real fight to keep Antoine Griezmann at Vicente Calderon next season.
