Manchester United will be without the services of their Dutch summer import Daley Blind owing to a knee injury, the club announced today.

Speaking to the media before this weekend’s game against Arsenal, Louis va Gaal delivered the bad news to the Red Devils faithful. “Blind is not ready, he has a brace on his knee. He needs 10 days' rest.”, said Van Gaal. “Then we'll have another scan and say more about his injury. It's not as bad as the doctors thought after the match, but it shall be a long story, I believe, six months or something.”

The 24-year old injured his knee whilst on international duty with the Netherlands on Saturday in a game against Latvia, which the Dutch won 6-0.

Blind has seemlessly joined the midfield ranks at Old Trafford following a £13.8m summer move from Ajax earlier this summer.

Blind has been one of the biggest sparks in the Manchester Unite ranks this season, which has yet agains been marred by mediocrity amongst the Red Devils’ ranks.

His combative nature and industrious performances has certainly come to the fore this season. Blind, in fact has made more forward passes and won more tackles in the opposition half than any other Manchester United player this season.
