Marco Reus taunts Bayern Munich with Tweet after they lost to Atletico Madrid

Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus was quick to mock Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich when they lost to Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The 26-year-old took to Twitter to mock the club who have time and again poached Borussia Dortmund's best players. His Tweet was immediately deleted but as is with social media, someone had a screenshot ready.

Marco Reus' tweet

The Tweet translates to “Statistics don’t mean much if this is the result,” in relation to the Bavarians losing to Diego Simeone's men. Pep Guardiola dominated most of the game but Marco Reus thinks the result is more important.

Perhaps disgruntled wth the way Bayern keep snatching away Dortmund's stars, Reus deleted the tweet soon often. His club have, in recent years, parted company with Mario Gotze and Roberto Lewandowski losing them to their biggest Bundesliga rivals – barring Schalke.

There could be more bad news for Reus and Borussia Dortmund with the club officially confirming that they are willing to let Mats Hummels join Bayern Munich if the right amount of money is received.

Having been asked the same question for years, Marco Reus promised that fans that he would never follow them to Munich and that he would stay at Borussia Dortmund if he's to play in Germany. He has, however, been linked with moves to English giants Arsenal and Liverpool.

Borussia Dortmund are second in the Bundesliga seven points behind the leaders and were eliminated by Liverpool this month in the UEFA Europa League after a string of incredible performances in Europe but are on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Thomas Tuchel has done the club a world of good correcting Jurgen Klopp's last season with the club which saw them finish seventh in the Bundesliga table albeit by struggling with the number of injuries they endured.
