Mario Balotelli crashes Mino Raiola's Bentley after scoring a brace

‘Super Mario’ unveiled by Nice earlier this year

If there is one man who has consistently made it to the news be it for his performance on the pitch or his antics off it, it's Mario Balotelli. This time around, the Italian striker makes his way into the news for crashing his agent’s Bentley. Mario was handed the keys to the luxury vehicle after he scored a brace against Marseille on his debut.

Super agent Mino Raiola promised Mario Balotelli that he would hand him the keys to drive around the Bentley should the striker net at least a brace against Marseille after joining Nice. Super Mario duly accepted the challenge and netted two goals and deservingly got his hands on his agent's car. However, things did not go down very well for the striker as he crashed the car into a pole while reversing the car on a night out.

His agent spoke about the incident saying, “One day Mario asked me if he could use my Bentley. I said, ‘score two goals against Marseille and we’ll talk about that. I obviously forgot about it then, until he called me up asking for the keys. He took it to a discotheque (club) and crashed it into a post when reversing…he called up to apologize. I forgave him, I can’t stay mad at him”.

Mario has made it to the news for unwanted reasons on many occasions before

“Mario is phenomenal, but he is always going to be Balotelli,” said Raiola about the wacky Italian. Mario Balotelli is one of the most talented strikers in the world, but his indiscipline and playfulness have affected his career considerably. The Italian moved to France after a disastrous period in Merseyside with Liverpool.

Since moving to Nice, the 26-year-old has already found the back of the next five times in four games. He has already matched his tally with Liverpool, where he scored four goals in 28 appearances. He is the second player in succession to move to Nice after a disastrous period in England to spring back to form. Hatem Ben Arfa was the other player who moved to Nice in the recent past and looks to be back to his best.

When Nice faced Lorient this weekend, Mario Balotelli picked up his first red card of the season. After scoring the winning goal in the 86th minute, Mario picked up a yellow for taking off his jersey while celebrating his goal.

Late into extra-time, Mario tangled with Steve Moreira resulting in a second yellow. However, the referee has admitted that he made a mistake booking Mario and his red will be rescinded.
