Trialists at the Liverpool International Football Academy – DSK Shivajians with the coaches

Pune, India, 13th April 2015: The Pune trials to form the 2015-16 squad of the Liverpool International Football Academy – DSK Shivajians were a huge success. More than 600 players of the Under-17 and Under-19 age groups participated in the Pune trials over the period of two days.

Trials were held at the DSK Dream City Football Fields, Loni, Pune. More than a hundred parents of the players were also welcomed to the Academy, where they enjoyed watching their wards participate in the trials as they were also shown the world-class facilities over the course of the day.

The numbers, added to the 400 players who participated in the Goa trials earlier this year, sum up to more than a 1000 participants this year alone.

The coaches from Liverpool FC were delighted with the overall turnout and the talent they saw in the trials. Dave Rogers, Head Coach, said: “We are delighted with the response and the turnout during the trials. The rising numbers are a result of the hard and good work we have put in the Academy over the past year.”

The desire and enthusiasm shown by the players is second-to-none as they travelled from across the country to be a part of the trials. The players should be proud of the commitment they have shown as this passion brings joy to everyone involved in the sport.”

Michael Rice, Academy Coach, added: “It is always a pleasure hosting young and talented players at the Academy. Whether selected or not, we are certain that the players enjoyed playing the ‘Liverpool Way’.”
