Leo Messi is disappointed after Argentina 2-0 loss to South American rivals Brazil in China. In his first appearance for his country after the FIFA World Cup final loss, he missed a penalty and looked generally listless. Diego Tardelli scored both goals as Brazil claimed victory in a match where Argentina missed a string of chances.

“The game was defined by two mistakes by us in the first goal and the penalty” he said. “If I’d scored, it would have changed the game. We were better early on but couldn’t take advantage of that. They scored with their first clear chance.”

The 27-year-old also spoke about working under former Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino,

“the team has not had much time to adjust to the new coach. But with more training and matches we’ll try to get a better idea of what Martino wants. And I’m sure we will.”

He also talked about the painful memories of the World Cup Final, saying that

“the anger for losing that final will never go away. And for their goal so close to the end.”

There was also an incident involving Kaka and Messi.
