According to reports in Spain, Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil regrets joining Arsenal and could move back to former club Real Madrid. The German has reportedly expressed his desire and willingness to move back to the Bernabeu.
The German midfielder joined the Gunners in a club record deal worth £42.5m from Real Madrid in 2013. His deal runs out in 18 months and the German is reportedly demanding a salary of £250,000-a-week.
Despite a slow start at the Emirates, the player established himself as a key member of Wenger’s side. The manager is desperate for the 28-year-old to sign a new contract and put a stop to all the speculations revolving around the player.
The German World Cup winner has so far started in 17 games in all competitions this season, having scored 7 goals and assisting 4 in the process.
It is also believed that Real president, Florentino Perez is a fan of Ozil and would love to have the player back.
Other clubs are aware of Ozil’s contract situation and Chelsea, and both the Manchester clubs are interested in acquiring the services of the German player.
Along with the Premier League trio, Italian powerhouse, Juventus also seem to be interested in the midfielder. It is however uncertain whether the club has the resources to challenge the English powerhouses vying for his signature.
Another star player of the Gunners, Alexis Sanchez has not dismissed rumours of a move to the super-rich Chinese Super League. The Chilean is considering a move to CSL as a genuine destination following speculation that the player is also seeking wages of £250,000-a-week.
Losing both of their star players together could be a big blow to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal’s hopes of finally winning a Premier League title after more than a decade.
Arsenal fans would hope that two of their most cherished assets will agree to a new deal, although it seems highly unlikely that Wenger would sell either of them to a direct rival.
Di Maria also wants a return
PSG star Angel Di Maria is also reportedly looking for a move back next summer to Los Blancos. The Argentine was very upset when he left the club a few years back and never wanted to leave in the first place.
He had a failed stint at Manchester United after which he moved to Paris Saint-Germain. He won the league title in his first season with the club. But this year he has had a much slower start to the campaign.
He is apparently unsettled and wants to come back to the Bernabeu along with Mesut Ozil. Zidane will surley welcome both with open arms but will it happen?
