Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray resigns

Tony Mowbray, the manager of Championship club Middlesbrough who has been managing it since 2010 resigns from his post. The club announced that assistant manager Mark Venus will officiate as the manager until a successor is appointed.

A statement on their official website read: “Middlesbrough Football Club have today announced that manager Tony Mowbray has left the club with immediate effect.Assistant manager Mark Venus will take charge of the team until further notice.”

Though Mowbray has been with the club for 3 seasons he has failed to win promotion to the Premier League.Under him the club finished 12th,7th and 16th.This season they lie 16th after winning only 2 of their opening 12 league games.
