Miroslav Klose eyes Ronaldo's World Cup goal scoring record

Miroslav Klose eyes highest goal scorer target in World Cup

Germany’s goal machine Miroslav Klose revealed that his personal target at the World Cup is to beat Ronaldo’s record tally of 15 goals. Klose has scored 14 goals and is just one goal behind Brazil’s iconic striker.

The Lazio frontman revealed that beating Ronaldo’s tally is his biggest motivation and he is gearing up for the challenge.

Goal.com quoted Klose: "Those who know me know this is indeed an aim of mine.

"With one goal I am joint top. I need two to be top. I am on a good road. Fitness coaches here know me and know what I need. I expect to be 100 per cent at the tournament.

"But the team always comes first. There are five or six teams fighting for the title. Luck is also a factor."

Klose further said that it is going to be tough for the European teams to adapt themselves with conditions in South Africa. It will be a very tough challenge.

"I spoke with team-mates in Italy. They told me that at the Confederations Cup [in Brazil last summer] they didn't know how to breathe after only 20 minutes. It's another way of football there," he added.

"South Americans have an advantage, they know the conditions."
