President of the newly formed MLS side Orldando City, Flavio Augusto Da Silva has confirmed reports that the Florida based side are holding talks with AC Milan regarding the transfer of Brazilian forward Robinho.

The 30 year old had been largely tipped to follow fellow Brazilian Kaka, to the States and Da Silva’s recent comments has now ratified the fact that the two sides are indeed in talks to bring Robinho to the MLS.

“Robinho wants to join us and we’re talking to Milan. We haven’t bought Robinho yet, but we are talking with AC Milan and we believe he will be a great reinforcement for our team,” said the Orlando City chief whilst speaking to Radio Bandeirantes.

“He’s a great player, he just turned 30, he’s very motivated and has shown that he really wants to play for our club.

“Will he go somewhere else on loan for six months like Kaka? I respect the desire of the player very much. Kaka going on loan to Sao Paulo was his own decision.

“If we are able to buy Robinho, his fate for the next six months would be up to him.”

AC Milan’s CEO Adriano Galliani also stated in recent comments that they were in the process of seeking a transfer for the Brazilian as well.

"We are trying to arrange with him (Robinho) a similar path to Kaka, but we are still distant with Orlando City," said Galliani ahead of the Rossoneri's pre-season friendly match at Monza. "Tomorrow morning (Monday), we will talk with him and his lawyer to find a solution."

With the MLS season due to kick-off in March, 2015, the two sides as well as Robinho will be looking to arrange a six-month loan deal for the forward, preferably back in his home country.

Once personally picked by Brazil legend Pelé as his heir apparent, the ex-Manchester City forward has seen his career go down the slope in recent years.

Robinho failed to adjust to the demands of the English game after moving to City on a four year deal that cost the English side £33,000,000 in 2008. It was then a British record transfer fee.

The enigmatic forward didn’t enjoy much success with AC Milan either, making 108 appearances for the Milanistis in 4 seasons at the club. Robinho made only 21 appearances for the Milan outfit last season, scoring seven goals.

His lack of regular football was also instrumental in him getting the cold shoulder from Luis Felipe Scolari when it came to picking the squad for the World Cup.
