The 23-year old Real Madrid forward has revealed that he had several offers during the course of Euro 2016. Morata started his career at Real Madrid B before making his official debut with the senior team in the year 2010.

The forward was then let go to Juventus for a sum of €20 Million.

The Spanish forward was a revelation with Juventus, scoring important and match-winning goals time and again. Having been a part of the successful side which reached the Champions League final against Barcelona in the year 2015, he was brought back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spanish forward is now back at the place where it all began after the Madrid club exercised the buy-back clause of €30 Million, a small price to pay for bringing back a home-grown product.

Initially, it was thought that Madrid would sell him on for a profit, with English clubs such as Chelsea reportedly showing interest.

Talking to Spanish newspaper Marca, Morata said, “It was hard for me to be at Euro 2016 and have five or six phone calls every day from different place."

The Spaniard did show his focus, scoring three goals in the group stages against opponents Turkey and Croatia. He continued the form he had shown for Juventus, having finished the season with a total of 12 goals.

Having signed a contract extension with Juventus in December, Morata was set to be in Turin till the year 2020, before Madrid took notice. Zinedine Zidane believes that the young Morata can provide adequate competition for Karim Benzema.

With Christian Ronaldo and Benzema both injured, Morata scored his first goal for the club since his return from Juventus this weekend against Celta Vigo.

The Spanish international is considered an all-round contributor to the game, with an excellent work ethic, which has been noted by Zidane. Along with Gareth Bale and Asensio, Morata has been instrumental in Madrid’s fluent attacking style this season.

The La Liga season is underway, and newcomers and surprise package, Las Palmas, have risen to the top of the league table. Barcelona, the other Spanish giants are also on 6 points having won both their fixture, the latest coming after Ivan Ratikic’s winner.

Madrid will hope that Morata is able to retain his focus and show the same drive that made him such a hit at Juventus.
