Morgan Schneiderlin is not happy with his performances this season

Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has told French magazine L’Equipe that he is not fully satisfied with his first season at Manchester United. He also promised to improve on his performances for the club.

The central midfielder joined Manchester United from Southampton for £25 million on a four-year contract in the 2015 summer transfer window. The Frenchman in his debut season has made only 24 starts this season and acknowledges that he had been too inconsistent in his performances.

The twenty-six-year-old likened his performances to Manchester United’s inconsistent season, saying, “I've been like the squad - some good matches and some that were not as good."

Schneiderlin felt that the expectations at Manchester United were much higher. He said, “But everything is definitely different at Manchester United. A good match at Southampton can be viewed as a bad one in Manchester."

The midfielder will be playing his 9th season in England and hopes the first year at Manchester United will be more successful after having a year to adapt at Manchester United. He says, “When I signed for Manchester United, I wanted to play all the matches -- to play well all the time,"

Schneiderlin added, “So I'm not fully satisfied. I'm not dissatisfied, I'm not satisfied -- I'm in the middle. But it's my first year. I'm convinced that I'll come back very, very strong next season.

Hoping to be part of Euro 2016

With Euro 2016 to be played later this year, Schneiderlin’s place in the France squad is in doubt with the rise of N’Golo Kante at Leicester City. He admits he is not guaranteed a spot in the 23-man Euro 2016 squad to be released this Thursday.

Speaking of his chances of making it to the squad, the midfielder said, “It would be a lie to say that I'm 100 percent optimistic. My chances have decreased a little bit. But it would also be lying if I said that I don't believe I'll make it."

Schneiderlin might not be featuring in the Champions League next season as Manchester United blew a golden opportunity to overtake Manchester City and go into fourth position. They lost to West Ham 3-2 and it was a game to forget for Schneiderlin as he looked off pace and was substituted at half-time by Michael Carrick.

Manchester United must win their next fixture against Bournemouth and hope that Manchester City lose their last fixture against Swansea on Sunday to gain a place in the Champions League next season.
