Mumbai-based Rendezvous Sports World Private Limited have tied up with I-League giants Mohun Bagan. Although the terms of the tie-up is still not clear, Sportskeeda learnt that Rendezvous Sports World were keen on associating with the brand name of Mohun Bagan in order to strengthen their bid to purchase the Mumbai franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL).
The history and huge popularity of Mohun Bagan in Indian football was a big attraction for Rendezvous Sports World. They have submitted a bid for the Mumbai franchise but reportedly face competition from the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ronnie Screwvala etc.
There has been no official confirmation from Mohun Bagan but Rendezvous Sports World have already announced about the tie-up on their social media pages and official website.

Interestingly Mohun Bagan have been referred to as ‘Rendezvous Mohun Bagan’ in Rendezvous Sports World’s official website although UB (United Breweries) group remain the club’s official sponsors and they are officially called McDowell Mohun Bagan.

Rendezvous Sports World Private Limited were the owners of now disqualified IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers and they are also the majority stakeholders of the Indian Badminton League’s Mumbai franchise.
They have also roped in Yuvraj Singh as a brand ambassador while PT Usha, Leander Paes, Dhanraj Pillay and Nayan Mongia are some of the eminent board members. It remains to be seen whether this tie-up with Mohun Bagan extends beyond the ISL or not.
