Nepal U14 Girls team during the Championship in Colombo

The Nepal U-14 girls team lifted the title of the Asian Football Federation (AFC) U-14 Girls South and Central Asian championship. The second edition of the championship was held at Colombo, Srilanka with six teams, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Iran, Tajikistan and Bhutan participating. The championship was held from March 20 to 25, 2014.

En route to lifting the championship, Nepal defeated all the participating teams. Nepal defeated Bhutan 9 – 0 in the first match and went on to defeat hosts Sri Lanka 1 – 0 in the second match. Nepal gunned down defending champions India 4 – 0 in their third match and went on to defeat Iran 4 – 0 in their fourth match. Nepal then wrapped up the title with a 2 – 0 beating of Tajikistan in their final match.

Nepal finished the championship with a perfect record of 5 wins in 5 matches. Nepal scored 20 goals in the tournament and boasted of an excellent defense as they were the only side that conceded none.
