New Balance Furon Details

The New Balance Furon

The wait has finally ended. After a whole year of gracing the feet of their brand ambassadors, American sportswear manufacturer New Balance is finally set to release their football boots to the public for the first time ever. The highly popular American company, whose running shoes have dominated the American market for years and have found numerous fans including one in late Apple founder Steve Jobs, is all set to wholeheartedly enter the cutthroat market of football, taking over from subsidiary Warrior Sports. NB kicked off their entry into the footy boot market with the release of its two flagship boots – the Furon and the Visaro. We’re going to see what the Furon’s made of.

Before we dive into the details of the boot, everyone should know that the Furon’s, true to their tagline – Take Chances, are meant for, as the name suggests, players who are willing to take risks and are willing to do everything legally possible to win a game.

To aid daring players in their quest for glory, the Furon comes equipped with a high energy upper that promises blazing strikes along with an ultra directional stud design that promises to add pace to ones games. NB have taken a leaf out of their rival Nike’s book and equipped the Furon with every lightweight material possible as well as adding the right amount of technology to pack a punch on the field. All in all speedy wingers and forwards are going to love this piece.

Another distinctive feature of the Furon’s is its outstanding Fantom Fit cage. Consisting of a Fixed Revlite insock, the cage provides top class cushioning along with unrivalled comfort on the field. NB left no stone unturned to make the Furon as great as possible and did things ranging from working with its brand ambassadors for over a year to researching various materials to aid the boots making.

Unlike its sister boot the Visaro which is an out and out attacking boot, the Furon’s are meant to aid attacks in their tracks and come equipped with a stiff soleplate with a spine for stability along with strategically placed studs that help add the wind to your feet.

Manchester United winder Adnan Januzaj, and one of New Balance’s most famous faces on the football front was full of praise for the Furon and was quoted as saying: “What has been clear right from the start is that New Balance set out to design a boot to help attacking payers – I have worked closely with them from the original prototype to ensure they achieve this. This boot feels like it’s been made especially for me and I know others will feel the same way”.

Entering into the cutthroat world of football is no easy task especially if you’re taking over manufacturing duties from an already successful company. However judging by its strong debut over the past year, expect NB to come out swinging and gain an as passionate fan following as its subsidiary Warrior.
