Neymar's father accuses Santos' owners of having 'mental diarrhoea'

Neymar moved from Santos to Barcelona in 2013

Neymar’s father has expressed of his sadness at the decision made by his son’s former club, Santos, to complain to FIFA about his transfer to Barcelona in 2013. Neymar Sr has accused the Brazillian club owners’ of suffering from ‘mental diarrhoea’ after they lodged a formal complaint against his son, as per reports on Goal.

Football’s governing body confirmed it received a claim from Santos last week about the deal, suggesting that the club hadn’t been paid the correct amount by Barcelona. FIFA confirmed on Friday that the allegations will be investigated.

Neymar Sr. is not at all pleased by the Brazillian outfit’s decision to lodge a complaint and has responded with a shocking outburst against the club.

“They [Barcelona] are p****d off.” Neymar Sr said in an interview.

“It's all out of place. [Santos] have acted without intelligence, it's as if the owners of the club have mental diarrhoea. Two years have passed since my son came to Barcelona and now they're questioning a transaction made by Fifa. Who had the federative rights? Santos. And now? Barcelona. It's that simple."

We need this matter to be over soon: Neymar Sr

Earlier this year, the Barcelona star had been accused of tax evasion and a Brazillian court decided to freeze Neymar and his family’s assets worth £31.3 million. According to the reports, Neymar had avoided paying £10.5 million in tax.

Due to the ongoing legal case, the 23-year-old’s contract talks with the Catalan club could be delayed. Neymar’s current deal expires in 2018 and his father is left frustrated with the possible delay in negotiations over a new deal.

"We, the family, are suffering from huge insecurity [to do with taxes and the legal proceedings], so that affects how we plan his career.” he said.

"We need these matters to be over. How can we extend something if we don't have tax stability? What is it that is happening? Spain has to tell me if my companies can work with Neymar Jr.”

Despite the unsettlement and chaos off the pitch, Neymar has not allowed the situation to affect himself on the field. He has become a key member of the Blaugrana side since he joined the club two seasons ago.

Ever since his arrival he has inspired Barcelona to four major honours, including last season’s treble-winning campaign, where he, along with his teammates, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez formed Europe’s most lethal attacking trio.

The Brazil captain has developed his overall gameplay and is now taking responsibilities on the pitch. He scored four goals in a La Liga fixture this weekend despite the absence of Messi in the squad.
