Rio de Janeiro, Nov 18 (IANS) Brazilian striker Neymar is on track to surpass Argentine goal-poacher Lionel Messi in football's list of all-time greats, according to former Barcelona and Brazilian star Romario.

Now a senator in Brazil, Romario predicted the 22-year-old would remain at the top until at least his mid-30s, reports Xinhua.

"He has everything it takes to be better than Messi," Romario said.

"Messi has already created history for what he has achieved. Neymar could also do that but in a way that is more complete. Messi might not even have one more World Cup in him and Neymar has the capacity to play in three or four World Cups."

Since making his international debut under Mano Menezes in 2010, Neymar has scored 42 goals from 59 matches. Only Pele (77), Ronaldo (62), Romario (55) and Zico (48) have scored more for the Selecao.
