Neymar could be sidelined with an injury for the rest of the season.

Things couldn’t possibly get any worse for Barcelona, as they face yet another set-back after losing their marquee signing of the season Neymar for four weeks due to a metatarsal injury. The news came in as another massive blow for the Catalans as they look to end a dreadful season in a the worst possible way i.e. without any major silverware.

After the 2-1 loss in the Spanish Kings’ Cup final to rivals Real Madrid, Barcelona were left to face the repercussions of ending the season on a very low note. They crashed 2-1 on aggregate to domestic rivals Atletico Madrid in Champions League and the shock 0-1 loss away to Granada demoted them to 3rd in the league standings.

According to reports, the Brazilian international succumbed to the injury during Kings’ Cup final and will eventually be sidelined for four weeks, missing the remaining league fixtures. It has also been suggested that if Neymar recuperates on time, then he may feature on the final day of the season when Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid at home.
