Earlier reports of Brazilian football legend Pele being transferred into an intensive care united at the Sao Paulo hospital where he is admitted to has been denied by the retired footballer himself, stating that he had just moved to a special care room with greater privacy.

He is admitted at the Albert Einstein Hospital who had previously released a statement saying that Pele was shifted to a special care unit as his condition worsened and he needed a kidney dialysis which was available only in the ICU.

"He is now temporarily on renal support without any additional support," the statement said.

However, Pele denied the news as he (or his representatives) took to Twitter to shed some light on the matter as he wrote, “Hello everyone, I want to take this opportunity to let you know that I am doing fine. I was not put into intensive care today, I was simply relocated to a special room within the hospital for privacy purposes only.”

“While I appreciate all the visitors that came to see me, I really need to continue my treatment and recovery in peace,” he added. “I am blessed to receive your love and support, and thank God this is nothing serious.”

“I am looking forward to spending the upcoming holidays with my family, and will start the new year with renewed health, with many international trips already planned! Thank you!”

The Brazilian legend was taken to the medical facility earlier this week following a urinary tract infection and had received antibiotics to treat the infection.
