Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has ruled himself out of the managerial vacancy at Manchester United, report The Guardian.

David Moyes was sacked on Tuesday morning after overseeing a dramatic decline in the Red Devils’ fortunes this season, with the club languishing in seventh place in the Premier League table.

Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs has been named as interim manager for the remainder of the campaign but a string of high profile names have already been linked with the top job at Old Trafford.

However, despite the Spaniard being strongly linked with the role before Sir Alex Ferguson retired, he has reiterated that he still sees his future with the reigning Bundesliga and Champions League champions.

“I signed for three years. I am here, I am Bayern’s and I want to stay here for [the] two more years [on my contract] to do my job. We won the Bundesliga but I feel that we can still improve. I still have a job to do,” he insisted.

That job starts when he returns to Spain to face familiar foes Real Madrid for Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first leg at the Bernabeu.

The former Barcelona manager may well be on the verge of a successful season in Germany but he is adamant there is still a lot of work to be done.

“I knew the style of Spanish football perfectly but it was not easy for me to go to Germany and change culture and the style. I feel like I need more time to feel that this is really my team.

“I absolutely do feel that Bayern is my team now but we can play better and in that sense I still have work to do. I want to stay here because I am comfortable here, the people are such gentlemen in my work and I want to stay a little bit longer.”

Bayern Munich have created 160 chances in the Champions League this season, 32 more than any other team.
