Laurent Blanc will remain head coach of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) during the next football season, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said.

Former Chelsea chief coach Jose Mourinho had been linked with the role despite PSG having already wrapped up a fourth successive Ligue 1 title.

PSG were knocked out at the quarter-final stage of the Champions League for the fourth time in a row and Blanc came under fire for his side's performances against Manchester City.

But after watching his side claim the Coupe de la Ligue trophy on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Lille in Paris, keeping them on course for a domestic treble, Al-Khelaifi said he expects the Frenchman to see out the two-year contract extension he signed in February.

"The contract was extended for two years, he will stay with us next year," Al-Khelaifi was quoted as saying by goal.com on Sunday.

"When we lose, we lose, it is a collective responsibility."

Angel di Maria scored with his side down to 10 men as PSG claimed the trophy for a third straight season with victory over Lille at the Stade de France.

"Even down to 10 players my players want to win. Maybe the team that dealt better with the pressure won," said Blanc.

"We can still have a great season. I hope my players keep their concentration in the weeks to come."

Blanc's side can repeat the treble they claimed last season by beating bitter rivals Marseille in the French Cup final on May 21.
