Sardar Dastur Boys celebrate their qualification to the knockouts

Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys’ High School rode on Tabish Sundke and Zeeshan Shaikh’s brilliance to romp into the round of 16 of the inaugural Godrej Properties-Pune FC ‘The Futsal Cup 2015’ at the Freekick Turfs in Balewadi. The duo contributed nine goals in two games helping Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys’ High School top Group M on Day 4 and move into the knockout round in style.

Meanwhile, Bishop’s co-ed, Undri and Podar International, Wagholi qualified into the knockouts as well as the best runner-ups among all groups, thus completing the pre-quarterfinal lineup.

Thursday’s proceedings were restricted to action involving Group M teams for the lone spot in the last-16. The opening match saw Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys’ High School down Erin Nosh Nagarvala School (ENNS) Boarding 4-0 and later Hillgreen High School, Undri defeated ENNS 5-0.

With ENNS out of the frame, the clash between Sardar Dastur Hoshang Boys’ High School and Hillgreen High School turned out to be the decider which was won by the former 6-4. The game lived up to expectations with ten goals being recorded in total.

The match began with Dastur striking twice early on in the opening two minutes through Zeeshan Shaikh before Tabish Sundke to completed his brace minutes later. Thereafter, Hillgreen’s Shrikalp Borade netted twice spaced while Tabish too struck for Dastur.

Prem Zombare then scored twice in the final few minutes for Hillgreen but Tabish’s fourth goal on a penalty handed Dastur a well-deserved win.
