“Put him out of his misery” – Ian Wright urges Arsenal to snap up Man United’s Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez has found his time on the field limited once again this season at Old Trafford

Legendary Arsenal striker Ian Wright has implored the Arsenal hierarchy to sanction a deal for Manchester United’s forgotten man Javier Hernandez via his Twitter account:

Wenger’s decision not to sign a senior centre-forward last summer has left Olivier Giroud with the sole responsibility of leading the line for Arsenal a key reason as to why the North Londoners have struggled to keep pace with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool in the scoring stakes.

Javier Hernandez, who currently sits behind Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in the pecking order at United, has found Premier League starts hard to come by and may be receptive to a move down south.

The 25-year-old Mexican has seen a gradual regression in his number of appearances each season since he joined United in October 2009, with a career-low 20 appearances so far this campaign.

Many, like Wright, think the diminutive forward is too accomplished a player to be restricted to the occasional cameo.
