Real Madrid CF v Al-Sadd - Santiago Bernabeu Trophy

Real Madrid’s legendary forward Raul could be on his way to the MLS soon. Raul Gonzalez who is currently playing for Al Sadd in the Qatari league is a target for the NASL champions New York Cosmos.

As per reports in InsideSpanishFootball.com, New York Cosmos manager, Giovanni Savarese has set his sights on landing Raul for the next season. The Venezuelan manager had signed Marcos Senna from Villareal the previous season.

Giovanni Savarese said: “If you told me I could sign a forward now, I would love to bring in Raúl, because of what he represents as a person – with his professionalism, commitment and ability. He’sexactly the type of person we want at the club.”

There has been no official word from either of the clubs that there are negotiations about a move for the 36-year-old. New York Cosmos is a club that had football legends including the likes of Pele, Johan Cruyff and Franz Beckenbauer and adding Raul would make the club’s glory days come back.
