Real Madrid's Benzema and Varane to miss La Liga clash against Levante

Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane to sit out in Real Madrid’s match against Levante

Real Madrid will be without two key players against 17th placed Levante as the two French internationals, Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane returned home with an illness after their international break.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed this as he said, "Everyone was fine when they got back, but this morning Varane and Benzema have a fever and aren’t available". The Italian further confirmed that midfielder Isco would start the game. On being asked about Benzema's replacement, he said that they would either get in the on loan striker Chicharito who is raring to go or they might get in an attacking midfielder.

Madrid currently sit at 4th place with 15 points from 7 games. Ancelloti also spoke about Khedira who trained with the team, but he's still not in optimal condition. Khedira has been out with injury for over 40 days and will be itching to get some first team action. He also spoke about the struggling Casillas and he confirmed that the 33-year old would be starting the game in spite of his poor form as Keylor Navas arrived back just yesterday.

Levante have won only one game in La Liga this season and they definitely have their task cut out against the European Champions who seem to be having a few problems of their own as they look to better their position in the league table.

Levante have caused a few problems to Real Madrid over the years and Ancelotti himself said that the game against Levante would not be a walk in the park for them,

"It will be a difficult match because they are a brave team at home, we need to be the best Real Madrid to win tomorrow's game. We need to be careful because it's very important for us to keep this momentum going. "
