According to reports, Real Madrid can make the signing of Manchester United loanee Javier Hernandez permanent this summer for a fee of €10 million. The Mexican striker was taken on a season-long loan for a fee of €2.5 million last summer. ‘Chicharito’, as he is more popularly known, has one year left on his United contract.

The 26-year-old hasn’t had the best of seasons and has made a majority of his appearances from the bench. However, with mounting injuries in the Madrid squad, he was handed a start against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and even scored the winner to send Los Blancos to the semi-final.

Hernandez has scored only five goals this season, four of which have come in La Liga. He also has 2 assists.

You can’t say no to Real: Chicharito

Chicharito is reportedly waiting for Madrid to take a call and told his representatives: “You can’t say no.” He was allowed to leave United after the Red Devils signed Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan in August 2014.

He also said: “ One of my goals is to continue working with Madrid. You have to live in the present.

“I do not know what can happen from here until a month from now.”

“Football changes very quickly, lots of things are talked about, and now other things. I am very good, very happy, and very confident. I have lots of short-term goals. I hope to continue to help out.”

With Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale injured, Hernandez is likely to get more starts this season.
