Real Madrid superstar, Gareth Bale, has come under scrutiny for his indifferent performances over the last few weeks. Bale has only scored twice in his last 18 appearances. But his agent, Jonathan Barnett, has blamed his teammates for Bale’s struggles.

In a recent interview Barnett said, “Real have to work with Gareth and pass the ball to him more. Give him more of the ball and let him show everybody what he’s good at. He’s going to be the best player at Real Madrid when his team-mates work with him and help him. Hopefully, Real will come to terms with this.

“I’m very upset that professional pundits don’t realise these facts. Instead of criticising, they should look at it more closely because it’s plain to see when you watch the games.”

The facts that Barnett mentioned were that Bale had covered more distance than Cristino Ronaldo. According to the stats, the Welshman covered 113 meters per minute with is 5 meters per second more than the more popular Portuguese. Bale was criticised by Roy Keane who said after the Juventus game that Real played the game with just “10 men”.

Bale is staying put: Barnett

There has been a lot of speculation regarding the 25-year-old’s future. He has been linked to a lot of premier league clubs but Barnett put an end to those rumours stating that the “most expensive player ” in the world is happy in the Spanish Capital.

“Every top club in the world would want to sign him but he will be at Real Madrid next season,” he said. “There’s no way he is going anywhere in the summer. When we said he always wanted to play for Real, it was 100 per cent true and he’s determined to be a success there.”
