Adnan Januzaj’s impressive first season in the Manchester United first team didn’t go unnoticed by the club’s European rivals, and now Real Madrid are ready to spend big to bring the talented youngster to La Liga, according to the Daily Star.

Madrid are reportedly planning to make a £33 million bid for Januzaj, and manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to bring him to the Bernabeu after the World Cup.

The 19-year-old was one of the few bright spots during David Moyes’ short-lived spell at the club, and his flair and invention shone in a very functional side. He generally featured on the left wing at Old Trafford last year, but his quality means he is capable of playing anywhere across attacking midfield.

Januzaj could make his competitive debut for Belgium in tonight’s World Cup clash with Algeria. Januzaj was also eligible to play for Albania, Turkey, Serbia, and he could also have qualified for England in the future, but he elected to play for Belgium, the country where he was born.

United are unlikely to welcome bids for Januzaj, who could be a star at the club for many years to come. Rather than lose players, Louis van Gaal is keen to add to the squad at Old Trafford, and Man United have been heavily linked with Bastian Schweinsteiger recently. Van Gaal had also made Alexis Sanchez a transfer target, but the Barcelona forward is expected to snub interest from England to secure a move to Juventus.

Januzaj completed 51 take-ons last season, more than any other Manchester United player.
