Moussa Sissoko is all set to reject Real Madrid for Inter Milan. Reports in France claim that the French Euro 2016 star is set to leave Newcastle United for Italian giants Inter Milan, as he has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Serie A side. Zinedine Zidane was keen on signing Sissoko after missing out on Paul Pogba, and will have to now turn elsewhere.

According to France Football, Sissoko has already agreed personal terms with Inter Milan and Newcastle are set to accept a €35 million bid for the tough tackling midfielder. The Magpies had set Sissoko’s price at 40 million, but Real Madrid were put off by that valuation, leaving Inter Milan to swoop in and make a bid.

Inter Milan begin their campaign away to Chievo Verona, and have new manager Frank de Boer at the helm after Roberto Mancini left the club due to a poor pre-season. The Dutchman has made Sissoko his prime target, with the Nerazzurri set to clinch the deal in the coming days.

Sissoko is training on his own and had earlier expressed his interest to leave Newcastle, saying “I spent three and a half years here. I gave everything for this club and I want to play some big games. For that I need to go somewhere else. I want to play in the Premier League, I want to play for a big club who can get into the Champions League.”

“That’s why I said I want to leave this year.I’ve spent a lot of time here and now it’s time to look forward. The fans need to understand my situation, I hope they will and that everything will be OK.”

Given that Inter Milan have not qualified for the Champions League, Sissoko’s choice is rather odd, although Inter’s new Chinese owners could pump in the money required for Inter’s revival.

Zinedine Zidane might be miffed at losing out on another transfer targer, with reports of a clash with Florentino Perez doing the rounds earlier. However, with the futures of James Rodriguez still up in the air, the Frenchman could still opt to look elsewhere.

Madrid begin their La Liga campaign agains Real Sociedad in La Liga, and Zidane can name a rather strong starting lineup, despite all the injuries – which could have meant Sissoko’s purchase was rather surplus to requirements.
