Real Madrid Florentino Perez is reportedly ready to reassert his authority at the Santiago Bernabeu once again and it is likely to result in the sale of star man Cristiano Ronaldo next summer, according to AS. Many had called for his head during the Clasico humiliation by Barcelona on Saturday night, but Perez has hatched a plan to win back the support of the club’s support.

The Portuguese forward has endured a disappointing campaign for Los Blancos thus far, struggling to replicate his stunning form from previous years that had won him 3 Ballon d’Ors in total.

On top of that, the 30-year-old has publicly cast doubt over his future at the Spanish capital, suggesting that he could return to his former club Manchester United or make a big-money move to France’s Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.

Ronaldo has not kept it a secret to show his disapproval towards Rafa Benitez’s perceived negative style of play, insisting that the ‘Galacticos will win nothing with him this season’.

According to the Spanish daily, the former United forward has told Perez, after the recent hammering at the hands of Barca, that if the Spanish coach remains at the Bernabeu, he’ll be forced to find another club.

Reports in Spain have claimed that the 68-year-old billionaire is now willing to let his Portuguese ace man walk in order to reassert his authority at the Bernabeu and is open to selling him off in the summer transfer window.

Los Blancos’ all-time leading goalscorer has already been confronted over the ambiguous comments regarding his future in recent weeks. Ronaldo had also denied having dined with Jorge Mendes and PSG president Nasser El-Khelaifi only two days before El Clasico.

And now, Ronaldo’s departure looks likely than it has ever been with United boss Louis Van Gaal admitting this week on his interest in bringing back the star man back to his former club for his second spell.

“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly ungettable.” the Dutch coach told in an interview.

“With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope. There is no trainer in the world that doesn’t like him.”

However, the French Champions remain favourites to get their top target, should he go on the market in the summer.

Perez may also be planning to call elections at the club to prove that he retains the confidence of the all-important socios at the Bernabeu. His current mandate runs until 2017 and he won the last two elections unopposed, meaning that this would be his first since 2004.
