Reports: Paris Saint-Germain serious about getting Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Mourinho is one Europe’s most coveted managers

Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer the managerial job to Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho at Park des Princes at the end of this season, Express reports. The reigning Ligue 1 champions have declared their serious pursuit for the highly coveted Portuguese tactician.

This is certainly not the first time Jose Mourinho has been wanted by one of the top elite clubs in Europe. Not only has he added multiple domestic titles in his career with the various clubs he has managed, but he is mainly known for his incredible record in European club competitions. Jose Mourinho has won the Champions League title with FC Porto and Inter Milan over the course of his illustrious career.

Although he has tasted success and fame in the past, all managers go through a rough patch and the Portuguese tactician has been enduring a rocky start to the new season with Chelsea both on and off the pitch. On their mission to defend the English league title, Mourinho and his blue army have picked up only 7 points from 6 matches in their Barclays Premier League fixtures.

Despite the shaky start to the season, Mourinho managed to secure a controversial 2-0 win against their cross-town rivals Arsenal on Saturday. The defending champions have struggled to emulate their last season’ s stunning form having to spend over £62 million in the last transfer window. They lost to Manchester City, Crystal Palace and Everton in the opening weeks of the new campaign has hampered their chance to defend the league title this term.

Mourinho’s permanent role at the club is in doubt

He is certainly the man under enormous pressure at the moment especially during press conferences where he has been dodging the bullets fired in his direction for the past few months.

Although the 52-year-old signed a new four-year contract last month which will keep him at the club until 2019, there are rumours emitting about the uncertainty of his permanent position at Stamford Bridge. The odds on him leaving before the end of the season have tumbled since the start of the season.

According to one of the reliable sources at the Bridge, it has been revealed that Mourinho could have been sacked had Chelsea lost to Maccabi Tel Aviv in their Champions League opener. His problems go off the pitch as well as he is now reportedly under investigation from the FA for alleged sexist language towards the club doctor Eva Carneiro.

However, he is not expected to be charged by the FA. The doctor’s role at the club downgraded following the 2-2 draw at the season opener against Swansea and she along with the physio hasn’t been seen at Chelsea’s bench nor team hotel since the incident happened.

The 52-year-old has been under the spotlight recent for cutting short a television interview last weekend when asked about the John Stones transfer saga. He later exchanged words with Everton boss Roberto Martinez and was furious with Martinez’s decision to conduct an interview ahead of him.

PSG owners believe Mourinho could take them to the next level

In spite of all the controversy and talks about Jose Mourinho, PSG’s owners Qatar Sports Investments are still determined to land the manager in Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions are reported to be keen on knowing the future plans of the former Inter Milan boss.

There’s no doubt Laurent Blanc has contributed a lot to the club but his future was the subject of speculation last term. However, Mourinho is seen as the right man to take the club to the next level by the club owners.

The club owners are craving to get their hands on the Champions League trophy and Jose Mourinho could be the catalyst to their success.
