Roberto Carlos unveiled as manager of Delhi Dynamos for ISL 2015

Roberto Carlos has been announced as the next manager of Delhi Dynamos in the ISL

Former Real Marid and Brazil star Roberto Carlos has been announced as the marquee Manager for Delhi Dynamos for the second season of the Indian Super League. The team posted a tweet and a video of him sending a message to the fans.

According to the Times Of India, the deal had been finalised a couple of days ago. It was earlier believed that Carlos had agreed terms with Qatari side, Al-Arabi, but a source close to the Dynamos had said that he would join Delhi as the marquee manager for the upcoming season, as per the report in Times of India.

Signing Roberto Carlos definitely signals an intent of fighting for the league by the Dynamos, who had signed Italian legend, Alessandro Del Piero, as their marquee player last season. Carlos is a big name who Indian fans can quickly associate with, what with him being one of the most famous players to don the prestigious white of Real Madrid and the yellow of Brazil.

He started his career in his native Brazil with Uniao Sao Joao before moving to Palmeiras in 1993, by which time he had already appeared for Brazil. In 1995, he made the move to Europe with Italian giants Inter Milan where he played for just a year, before the biggest club in the world came calling. For the next 11 years, Carlos stayed at Madrid, collecting many honours along the way.

With the Los Blancos, Carlos won four La Liga titles, three Champions League titles and a European Super Cup. He has scored 102 goals in his 820 appearances during his long 20-year career.

He represented Brazil in three FIFA World Cups winning one in 2002 and finishing as a runner-up in 1998. He has earned 125 caps for the Selecao, which is only second to Cafu who has 142. He scored 11 goals for the national side, with the most impressive and memorable one being his famous left-footed curler against France.
