Reports: Barcelona's Xavi to join David Villa and Frank Lampard at New York City FC

Xavi Hernandez is all set to move to New York City FC after a long and illustrious career with the Spanish giants FC Barcelona.

According to reports, the deal is said to be done and is expected to be uncovered to the public on Wednesday, that might see the 2010 World Cup winner join Frank Lampard to make a formidable mid-field.

The 34-year old’s international teammate and former Barcelona player David Villa has already joined the American side and will play for their sister club. New York City FC is a newly formed club and will be entering the MLS league for the 2015 season. Hence, all three might be in action for Melbourne City in the A-League.

Xavi was part of the Spanish national side that was knocked out of the World Cup 2014 in the group stages. The mid-fielder was the only Barcelona player to have won 7 league titles and hold a contract until 2016 with the club.
