Reports: Filipe Luis move to Chelsea stalls but player keen to move to Stamford Bridge

Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis’ move to Chelsea looks to be stuttering, with reports suggesting that the two clubs are some way apart in their valuation of the 28-year-old. While the Daily Star report the player is keen to join Chelsea.

The Daily Star believe that Chelsea are unwilling to go above £15 million in their pursuit of the Spain international, while Atletico are prepared to reject anything below the left-back’s £19 million buy-out clause.

Luis has reportedly made his desire to move to Chelsea clear to his Spanish employers, rejecting the chance to open negotiations over a new deal at the Madrid side.

Chelsea signed Diego Costa from Atletico earlier this week, having signed Cec Fabregas from Barcelona last month, meaning that Luis would be their third signing should the two clubs be able to agree a fee.

The Star believe that Chelsea are prepared to offer Luis, who played 32 league games for Atletico last season, a weekly wage of around £80,000 per week.
