Will we see Gary Neville in India next season?

Reports have emerged that recently sacked Valencia manager Gary Neville could be making a shock move to Indian Super League side – Delhi Dynamos. The Manchester United legend cut his teeth into management by making a tough move to Valencia, however, if reports are to be believed, Neville is set to embark on a new adventure in India.

Respected agent Baljit Rihal who has previously helped the likes of Michael Chopra to play for Kerala Blasters in the ISL, tweeted about the news on his personal Twitter account, lending an air of credibility to this unexpected and shocking move.

The Englishman endured a torrid spell as manager of Valencia winning only 10 out of the 28 matches he managed. His appointment as Valencia manager was something of a shock as Neville had no previous experience of managing a top level club.

The Englishman was appointed only on December 2nd, however, a poor run of results caused the Spanish club to part with their manager. Neville endured a tough start not winning in his first 9 La Liga matches.

An embarrassing 7-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey was the low point of his breif managerial career at Valencia. The former Manchester United man was pretty vocal in his criticism as a football pundit and some people like Hernan Crespo enjoyed his discomfiture.

Neville who is the assistant coach of the England national team will represent a huge coup for Indian football if the move does materialise.

Delhi Dynamos are not short of cash having previously signed the likes of Alessandro Del Piero. A quick one season spell at ISL with Delhi Dynamos can prove to be a good learning curve for the former Manchester United right-back.

The move seems less improbable when you consider the fact that Brazil legend and former World Cup winner Roberto Carlos was the player/manager of the Delhi Dynamos side last season. The arrival of Gary Neville to Indian football will only strengthen the game in the country and Delhi Dynamos fans and Indian fans in general will be waiting with bated breath to see if the Neville does move to Delhi or not.
