Reports: Juventus CEO reveals Liverpool interest in Claudio Marchisio

Claudio Marchisio is under contract at Juventus until 2020.

Italian champions Juventus claimed that they have rejected several offers for their midfielder Claudio Marchisio, including one from Liverpool, in the past week Sky Sports reported. The club’s chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that the Juventus product wants to finish his career with the Serie A champions.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield to work under the club’s newly appointed manager Jurgen Klopp. The news has been circulating for the past few weeks but Marotta believes that the Juventus midfielder is going nowhere despite receiving several offers from European clubs.

“We get so many offers for our players, but we are used to buying - not selling,” Marotta told reporters shortly before Juventus’ goalless draw against Inter Milan on Sunday evening.

“We have renewed with him, our focus is strong and I think Claudio’s first thought is to finish his career here. Not only Liverpool, we have received several offers.”

The Italy international is a Juventus youth product and has come up the ranks over the years. Marchisio has established himself as a regular in the Juventus midfield and recently signed a five-year contract in July to remain at the club until June 2020.

We received offers for Pogba: Marotta

France international Paul Pogba is one of the most coveted talents in Europe and the Frenchman was linked with a move to Barcelona and Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. Pogba is one of Juventus’ biggest asset.

Club’s chief executive also spoke of turning down offers for the former Manchester United player.

“There were offers from other clubs formalised, but we have rejected them because Paul is the heritage of the club.” Marotta said.

“Maybe we have loaded him with many responsibilities, but this will help him to become a leader.”

Juventus enter the race for Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva has scored twice this season for AS Monaco.

AS Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva is one of the hottest prospects in Europe and he is being closely watched by the England’s elite clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City. It has been understood that the Italian champions have also joined the race for the Portuguese youngster, according to talkSPORT.

Silva was one of the standout talents at the European U21 Championships when his side won the tournament last summer. Juventus are now keen to sign the highly-rated midfielder and the club sent scouts to Monaco’s 1-1 draw with Lyon at the weekend.

The Portuguese scored seven times for his club last season as they finished third in the league behind PSG and Lyon, but so far in this campaign, Silva has managed to find the back of the net just twice. The former Benfica man is currently contracted at Monaco until the summer of 2020.
