Reports: Manchester United offer trial to non-league footballer Sam Grimshaw

Sam Grimshaw has been taken on trial by Manchester United

Reports indicate that Manchester United have roped in non-league sensation Sam Grimshaw on trial.

The 21-year-old, who was part of United’s rivals Manchester City for a period of nine months, has caught the attention of many bigger clubs with his impressive style of play while representing Glossop North End in the North West Counties League this season.

Grimshaw can play either as a left winger or a left-back and looks set to spend this week at United’s training complex in Carrington. Several other teams have also shown interest in him, but United it seems are looking him as a future prospect and if he does impress the support staff at the club, he could be offered a permanent contract by them.

Along with possessing good football skills, Grimshaw also has another impressive stat going for him, which is that he can run a distance of 100 metres in a span of 11 seconds.

This though isn't the first time when the Red Devils have shown interest in a player from non-league football. They signed on Sadiq El Fitouri from Salford City on an 18-month deal earlier this year and took Southport’s Andrew Lewis on trial basis last month.
