Roberto Carlos predicts his former side Real Madrid will win the Clasico

Delhi Dynamos boss Roberto Carlos who has been a part of a number of previous El Clasico’s believes his former team Real Madrid will emerge winners against rivals Barcelona. The Brazil national also spoke about the feeling of playing an El Clasico and called Cristiano Ronaldo the best player in the world.

After spending most of his career at Santiago Bernabeu, where the first El Clasico of this season will be played, Carlos moved to managing. His playing career outshines the short management one y a long shot having been part of World Cup winning campaigns with Brazil and winning the league with Real. However, after managing in Turkey, the Brazilian is now in India managing Delhi Dynamos where his team have done well and are fair picks for the semi final stage.

Just ahead of the game, the Dynamos boss sat down with IBNLive to discuss all matters El Clasico. The left-back reminisced about his playing days in Spain saying it was a special thing to play against Barcelona for Real Madrid.

He said: “All Clasicos I played in were really special. The one I can really think of is the one where I played at the Bernabeu. Even the one when Figo changed teams and we went to the Nou Camp was special.

“When you step out to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, it is fantastic. The preparation for Clasico begins one week in advance.This is the most important game of the season for the players.”

There has been a special aura around the Clasico since Messi and Ronaldo began their own personal little war in Spain. But Carlos has a clear favourite.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is now the best player in the world. We have to be respectful when we talk about him. When you are the best, it is very big,” he said.

Quickly adding, “Lionel Messi is also a very special player but Ronaldo is amazing.”

He wrapped it up by making a prediction when asked about what he thought the score would be between Rafael Benitez's Real Madrid and Luis Enrique’s Barcelona.

He said: “Real Madrid 2, Barcelona 1,” while gesturing two for Real and 1 for the Catalan club.

The Delhi Dynamos boss has made his prediction but it remains to be seen if his words will ring true. He will be hoping that his former side can get another one over their rivals when they meet soon.
