Ex-Real Madrid and Brazil legend has stated that Barcelona’s Jordi Alba is the best left-back in the world.

The 40-year-old’s comments come after Espanyol defender Joan Capdevila confessed that he was sure that Alba will surpass the former Brazil international’s achievements at Real Madrid, where he won four La Liga titles.

In an interview to Marca Carlos said: “Along with Marcelo, Alba’s the best left-back currently.”

“His explosive pace makes him important in both defence and attack.

“He’s also a proven goalscorer.”

Alba made his debut for Spain in 2011 and has since gone on to score five goals for the world and European champions. He also scored for Spain in the 4-0 Euro 2012 victory against Italy.
