Rio de Janeiro, Oct 22 (IANS) Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni is one victory away from earning his fourth Guinness World Record by eclipsing a mark held by Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs.

The 41-year-old will become the footballer with the most victories for the same club if Sao Paulo defeat Chapecoense in Brazil's Serie A championship Wednesday, reports Xinhua.

Rogerio and Giggs currently share the record with 589 wins. The Brazilian also holds the record for the most appearances as captain of one club, most goals by a goalkeeper and most appearances for the same club.

Rogerio, who still takes free-kicks and penalties for Sao Paulo, made his first-team debut for the club in 1992. He was capped 16 times for Brazil from 1997 to 2006.

Ceni had recently scored his 123rd career goal last week in Sao Paulo’s match against Bahia.
