Arsenal are reportedly working on devising a deal to bring Robin van Persie back to the Emirates in the summer, according to the Metro.

Van Persie is believed to have told close friends that he wishes to leave Manchester United at the end of the season as he has become disillusioned with life under David Moyes.

And Arsene Wenger has asked the the club to look into the possibilities of bringing him back to the club he left in 2012 for a fee of £24 million.

Wenger is believed to have met with the Dutch striker’s agents to sound out whether he would be interested in a return to North London in the summer and initial noises coming from Van Persie’s camp have suggested that he would consider a return.

Arsenal are looking to bring a striker of real class into the club in order to compliment Olivier Giroud while Yaya Sanogo learns his trade, and Alvaro Morata is also believed to have agreed personal terms with the Gunners.

United are reportedly wanting to keep hold of Van Persie, but the opportunity to recoup most of the outlay would aid their summer rebuild and allow them to get fresher blood in that would compliment Wayne Rooney in better fashion.
