Reports suggest Arsenal are gunning to land goal scoring machine Jackson Martinez if they fail to secure primary target Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid on a loan deal. The Porto striker has admitted he is an Arsenal fan, intensifying speculation of a possible transfer this January transfer window.

The Columbian has been in flying form since his move to Portugal, scoring 33 goals in just 26 appearances in the domestic league so far. The player has seen his reputation grow immensely prompting the big European teams to show interest in him.

The center forward could be the perfect buy for Arsene Wenger as he enters the latter stages of the season without a recognised striker. With Theo Walcott out for the rest of the season, the manager will need dip into the market if they are the keep their title hopes alive.

The 27-year old is said to have a release clause of close to £33.2 million, which might prove to be a bargain considering the value addition he will provide to the Arsenal squad.
