Rumour: Chelsea to receive staggering £38m offer from PSG for David Luiz

Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to bring Chelsea’s David Luiz to the French capital in a deal worth £38 million, reports the Daily Mail.

Luiz’s future at Chelsea has been uncertain for quite some time and there is a good chance that he could leave the west London club in the summer after constant links to Barcelona and now PSG.

He has long been linked with the Catalan giants as Carles Puyol’s replacement. The rumours of his departure to Spain have picked up, too, since Puyol announced he will be leaving at the end of the season.

But the transfer ban imposed by FIFA on Barcelona has thrown that and many other projected signings and sales by the Catalan club into confusion.

Barca are set to fight the ban and are likely to win at least a suspension for this summer if not a complete overturn.

That may take some time, though, and Chelsea want to complete as much of their transfer business this summer as they can before the World Cup starts in June.

And whatever the outcome of this week’s Champions League quarter-final second leg clash between the Blues and PSG, club officials and agents are set to discuss the prospect of Luiz being sold to the French club, who are set to win Ligue 1 again.

Luiz has won 60% of his headed duels in the league this season – 38/63.
