Rumour: Cristiano Ronaldo considering move to Major League Soccer

Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly be interested in a move to the MLS

According to a story in the Sports Illustrated, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo would be interested in making a move to one of the bigger cities of Major League Soccer (MLS) like New York, Miami or Los Angeles.

At the moment, former AC Milan player Kaka is the highest paid player in MLS, with a reported salary of $7,100,000 per year. The 30-year-old might command a similar if not higher amount and so a team that is financially strong would only be in any position to sign the forward.

Ronaldo’s form not a concern: Ramos

The Portuguese international has been criticized recently for his performances, but his teammate and defender Sergio Ramos insisted that there was nothing to be worried about, with regards to the former Manchester United winger’s form.

“It’s difficult being Cristiano because he’s been performing at a very high level for a number of years,” the Spaniard told the club’s official website. “He knows himself better than anyone and he’s a very competitive person, so we’re not worried because we must appreciate what he brings to the team,” he added.

Madrid’s next game is against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Sunday and there’s no doubt that Ronaldo will need to play a key role if they are to come out on top in that fixture.
